Thirdy Ravena bounces back, rescues Ateneo from FEU

Comebacking wingman Thirdy Ravena came up big in the stretch as Ateneo outlasted defending champion Far Eastern U in a tense finish on Wednesday, 76-71, to get back on track in the UAAP Season 79 men’s basketball tourney at the Mall of Asia Arena.

After squandering a lead as high of 13 points, the Blue Eagles found their second wind behind the 6-foot-2 Ravena who pumped in five markers in the crunch, including the go-ahead lay-up that enabled them to break a 66-all count and hold off the hard-fighting Tamaraws.

The victory enabled Ateneo to bounce back from a 60-70 loss dealt by National U over the weekend, improving its record to 2-1.
