Garvo Lanete picked up from where he left off, firing a career-high 25 points as NLEX Roard Warriors sank GlobalPort Batang Pier, 114-98, Friday in the 2016 PBA Governors’ Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Lanete, who had 21 in their last game, rifled in 11 of his total in the fourth period this time around, leading the Road Warriors’ knockout blow that handed the Batang Pier their third straight loss.
Four more NLEX players hit in double figures with Henry Walker coming away with 35 and 13 boards. Jonas Villanueva also chipped in 14 while Asi Taulava also had a double-double with 11 markers and as many rebounds while Kevin Alas also fired 11.
The Batang Pier’s Big 3 carried the fight for GlobalPort combining for 74 of the team’s total output. The rest of the team could only score 24 as Batang Pier slid to 3-7, virtually kissing their playoffs hopes goodbye with only one game left in their schedule.
