Rain or Shine’s locals finally got their acts together as the Elasto Painters took down giant-killer Mahindra, 103-88, Friday night in the 2016 PBA Governors Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Yeng Guiao was able to squeeze a balanced effort from his locals as Jason Forte was still feeling his way with only one practice in his PBA comeback.
Five locals hit in double figures for Rain or Shine led by Raymund Almazan who had 14 points and five rebounds in a starting gig as Forte came off fhe bench.
“We have to do most of the work all Filipino since Jason had only one practice with us and dumating siya kahapon, 4 a.m. He practiced at 10 a.m. and he suited up for this game.
Obviously, we can’t expect too much from him,” Guiao said.
Forte finished with 10 points and six boards.
Rain or Shine veterans Beau Belga, Jeff Chan and Paul Lee also chipped in to their cause.
