JP Erram hopes for the best but braces for the worst as Blackwater big man undergoes MRI

Blackwater big man John Paul Erram could only hope that his current right knee injury is nothing more than a sprain, just a few hours after leaving the Elite’s game on Saturday against TNT at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The 6-foot-8 Erram is now confined at the St. Luke’s Medical Center in E. Rodriguez, Quezon City where he was scheduled to undergo an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan on his right knee at 11 p.m. Saturday night to see the extent of the damage.

The former Ateneo big man, who three years ago tore an ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) on his knee, said he heard a pop twice as he landed awkwardly after driving past TNT forward Ranidel de Ocampo in the second period.

“Hindi ko po alam kung may tumama ba o wala. Ang naalala ko po may nag-pop dawalang beses tapos yun na po, namanhid na at hindi ko na siya maramdaman,” Erram told FOX Sports on Saturday.

Erram, who has improved his game this season, was sorely missed in the second half as Blackwater suffered a 109-89 beat down at the hands of TNT.

He had 9 points, 3 rebounds and 2 blocks before going down with the injury.
