Talk N’ Text Katropa survived yet another tough encounter, this time against their sister team NLEX Road Warriors, 101-95, to remain unbeaten in the PBA Governors’ Cup Wednesday night at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Jayson Castro, who was coming off a 25-point, 10-assist performance in victory over Alaska last week, displayed his brilliance once again as he flirted with a triple-double, finishing, this time, with a team-high 23 markers on top of 8 assists and 7 rebounds.
Katropa came from 8 points down entering the final frame to capture their fourth straight win, solidifying their hold of top spot. TNT tightened up on defense down the wire as the Road Warriors’ offense was limited to just 2 points in the final 2:55 of the game.
Trailing 91-93, TNT launched a 10-2 finishing kick punctuated by Mario Little’s dagger triple courtesy of Castro’s eight assist in the last 23 seconds.
Rookie Troy Rosario also came up big tallying 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting while American while Little chipped in 18 points and 9 boards.
NLEX, on the other hand, is now on a 3-game slump after opening their campaign with a victory.
