Stanley Pringle plays through bum stomach, rues GlobalPort’s error-prone game

With key cogs still healing from their injuries, GlobalPort explosive guard Stanley Pringle also played through a bum stomach in their loss to a resurgent Mahindra Enforcers, 98-108, in the PBA Governors’ Cup at the Big Dome, Tuesday night.

Pringle even headed immediately to St. Luke’s Hospital in Quezon City to get I.V. drip to avoid dehydration, joining 4 players in sick bay.

GlobalPort is also missing Pringle’s backcourt partner Terrence Romeo due to intestinal flu, while Jay Washington, Joseph Yeo and Rico Maierhofer due to various minor injuries.

“We definitely miss Terrence tonight,” said Pringle.

Though not feeling 100%, he chipped in 19 points to backstop import Dominique Sutton but was still not enough to get GlobalPort into the winning column.

Given the short elimination round, Pringle knows they have to find ways to break the anchor and get necessary wins to stay afloat.

“We have some things to correct, right now, we’re gonna break it down in film tomorrow (Thursday),” said Pringle. “We definitely have too many turnovers.”

Pringle had 3 of the Batang Pier’s 19 errors and worst, they were badly beaten off the boards, 32-50. – By Jason Mercene
