Allen Durham had an electrifying comeback in the PBA powering Meralco Bolts to a 108-103 win over Phoenix Fuel Masters at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Friday night at the start of the season-ending Governors’ Cup.
Durham, who played for the now defunct Barako Bull franchise, sparked the Bolts’ victory with 32 points, 22 rebounds and 5 assists.
He scored two crucial baskets in the closing minutes to fend off the Fuel Masters’ last-minute rally.
After Simon Enciso’s 3-pointer cut Meralco’s lead to just one, Durham pumped in four straight points including a putback slam that killed Phoenix’s momentum.
Norman Black later said that Durham reminded him of his contemporary imports.
Black: Durham reminds me of Billy Ray Bates and Bobby Parks. He's a pretty solid player.

Jimmy Alapag also sizzled with 15 points on 4-of-5 triples while adding 6 assists. The Bolts’ Asian import Mohammad Jamshidi, who only planed in last night, bucked foul trouble to contribute 9 points and 3 assists.
