Batang Gilas sweeps elims behind Josh Sinclair’s near flawless shooting

It’s just another day at the office for the Batang Gilas.

Already assured of a slot in the FIBA Asia U-18 Championship at Iran this July, Batang Gilas did not let up in ousting host-team Indonesia, 113-73 to punch a ticket the Finals of the SEABA U-18 Wedneday night.

Batang Gilas was led by Joshua Sinclair’s near perfect outing.

Sinclair, who just missed a lone three pointer, and two bonus shots, fired 25 points on 12-of-12 shooting inside the arc for the Batang Gilas.

Team captain Jolo Mendoza and Jonas Rapael Tibayan supported him with 14 and 13 points, respectively.

Muhamad Arighi Harda Noor topscored with 14 points while their team skipper Bagas Daramawan Hartono put up 13 points for the Indonesian squad that failed to reach the Finals with a 3-2 slate.

Batang Gilas finished the elimination with a perfect 5-0 slate that set them up for a rematch with Thailand (4-1) who they dismantled in the opener 101-45. – Bryan John Ulanday
