Kevin Alas is finally healthy and is slowly working on his consistency.
Fully recovered from his ankle injury and already came to terms with the fact that he was traded to his 3rd team in just his second year as a pro, Alas feels much more confident now.
“I’m feeling much better than last conference. Kasi nung bumalik ako coming from an injury, 1 week lang ako nakapag-practice with the team so during the break, talagang nag-rest ako at pinalakas ko ang ankle ko. So I think yun yung nakatulong sa akin,” Alas told FOX Sports.
While there was only a slight bump in his point production, from 7.4 points per game on 38% shooting to his current 8.2-point on 41.8%-percent shooting clip, his value to the NLEX Road Warriors is best measured in their win-loss column.
Curiously, Alas scored in double figures in all NLEX wins this conference averaging 13.8 points whereas he only had 3.5-point average in all their six losses.
Al Thornton, Asi Taulava and Sean Anthony are all given to produce for the Road Warriors so it’s going to be critical for coach Boyet Fernandez to get more production from the rest of the team.
Alas has his work cut out for him and prove to everybody that he can also be the man instead of just being the journeyman. – By Alder Almo
