Phoenix-FEU standouts Mike Tolomia and Mac Belo crowd veteran Raymond Aguilar as the race for the MVP award in the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup heats up.
Aguilar, a former PBA player who has had a career resurgence with UP QRS/JAM Liner, tops the statistical points (SPs) race with 34.9 SPs, powered by his 17.3 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists, enough to help the Maroons take the 4th seed in the quarterfinals.
Tolomia has also had a memorable conference, posting a triple-double of 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists, only the 2nd such feat in D-League history. He sits at 2nd with 33.8 SPs as he netted 15.3 markers, 7.4 assists, 5.6 boards and 0.8 steals.
Meanwhile, Belo, who recently joined Gilas Pilipinas training sessions, is at 3rd with 33.4 SPs after averaging a league-leading 20.5 points he sprinkled with 5.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 0.8 blocks and 0.5 steals. The versatile forward broke the D-League scoring record by firing 41 points in a loss to Caida Tiles last February 15.
CafeFrance’s Carl Cruz (30.9 SPs), and Caida spitfire Jio Jalaon (30.4 SPs) round out the top 5.
