Tropang TNT combo guard Jayson Castro will have his right Achilles checked within the next 2 days to see the extent of his injury.
TNT physical therapist Dexter Aseron said Castro aggravated his injury after landing awkwardly during the dying minutes of the Tropa’s 88-96 loss to Star on Sunday.
“Either mamaya (Monday) or bukas kami pupunta sa doctor para maggpa-check up sa injury niya kasi na-aggravate yun sa game kagabi,” Aseron told FOX Sports on Monday.
Aseron said the team’s 2-day break will definitely help the sweet-shooting Castro as he rests his Achilles from the constant pounding.
“Paulit-ulit na kasi yung injury kaya mina-manage na lang namin yan. Kasi kailangan niya ng rest saka strengthening,” he added.
The soft-spoken TNT therapist said the “Blur” first hurt his right Achilles during Gilas’ preparation for the 2014 Fiba World Cup in Spain.
Since then, the injury has developed into tendinitis.
“We just want to make sure lang kaya namin ipapa-check up kasi may maga sa tendon niya. Mga 3 days before game pa may nararamdaman na rin siya,” explained Aseron. – By Richard Dy
