After being named the Chinese Basketball Association’s MVP, Michael Beasley is set for a return to the NBA with the Houston Rockets, according to reports.
It is understood that the Rockets and Beasley have agreed on a league minimum deal for the remainder of the current season, but the Rockets do have a team option for next season.
Last week, it was reported that Beasley, who made his name with the Miami Heat, turned down offers from Maccabi Tel Aviv and a number of other overseas teams as he was determined to make his NBA comeback.
Beasley enjoyed a highly successful season with the Shandong Golden Stars in which he averaged 31.7 points, 13.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. The form of the ex-Minnesota Timberwolves small forward helped Shandong win 28 of their 38 regular season games and finish in fifth place on the Chinese Basketball Association standings.
The 27-year-old played in the NBA last season where he represented the Heat in 24 games, during which he averaged 8.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists.
