NBA Wrap: Curry scores 36 in Warriors’ 50th win

Stephen Curry scored 36 points as the Golden State Warriors became the fastest team to win 50 games in NBA history when they beat the Atlanta Hawks 102-92. 

Curry, who also grabbed six rebounds and dished out eight assists, was well supported by Klay Thompson, who dropped 27 points.

Al Horford had 23 points, 16 rebounds and six assists for the Hawks.

The Detroit Pistons snapped their five-game losing streak when they defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 96-88.

Reggie Jackson scored 23 points for the Pistons, while Andre Drummond recorded a double-double, which consisted of 16 points and 15 rebounds.

Kyrie Irving was the Cavaliers’ top-scorer with 30 points.

The Miami Heat won their third consecutive game after triumphing over the Indiana Pacers 101-93 in overtime.

Hassan Whiteside starred for the Heat as he scored 19 points on eight of 17 shooting, pulled down 18 rebounds and blocked six shots.

Paul George was the Pacers’ best player as he scored 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Over at Madison Square Garden, Kyle Lowry recorded a triple-double to lead the Toronto Raptors to a 122-95 win over the New York Knicks.

Lowry dropped 22 points on seven of 13 shooting, pulled down 11 rebounds and dished out 11 assists.

Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds.

Lowry was not the only player to register a triple-double as Giannis Antetokounmpo also achieved the feat during the Milwaukee Bucks’ 108-101 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Antetokounmpo made 12 of the 17 shots he attempted to score 27 points and also grabbed 12 rebounds and dished 10 assists.

Nick Young dropped 19 points for the Lakers.

Karl-Anthony Towns scored 27 points as the Minnesota Timberwolves edged the Boston Celtics 124-122.

Towns, who also pulled down 13 rebounds, received some excellent support from Gorgui Dieng as he scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

Jae Crowder was the Celtics’ top player with 27 points and nine rebounds.

In the final game of the night, the Los Angeles Clippers demolished the Phoenix Suns 124-84.

J.J. Redick led the Clippers to victory with 22 points, while DeAndre Jordan had 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Archie Goodwin scored 20 points for the Suns.
