NLEX extends Star’s woes

NLEX steadied down the stretch and survived Star’s late fightback, hacking out a 106-99 victory Saturday in the Oppo PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Alonte Sports Center in Binan, Laguna.

Kevin Alas and import Al Thornton delivered key baskets down the stretch to fend off the Hotshots’ late fightback.

Alas and Thornton’s late game heroics preserved Garvo Lanete’s career game.
