Evans out for the season

New Orleans Pelicans shooting guard Tyreke Evans has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after undergoing right knee surgery.

Evans went under the knife on Thursday after getting a second opinion regading the knee tendinitis that has kept him out of action since January 25.

This is Evans’ third surgery on his right knee since May last year and his absence will be a big blow for the Pelicans as they are in the midst of a disappointing season, in which they have won just 20 of their 52 games.

In the 25 games he did play this season, Evans averaged 15.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
