NBA Wrap: Bryant carries Lakers past Pelicans

Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant unleashed a throwback Thursday special as he led his side to a 99-96 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. 

Bryant scored 27 points on 10 of 24 shooting, grabbed 12 rebounds, dished out two assists and recorded two steals. 

Anthony Davis starred for the Pelicans as he scored 39 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. 

Despite blowing a 27-point lead, the Detroit Pistons managed to recover to beat the New York Knicks 111-105 at the Palace Of Auburn Hills. 

Stanley Johnson led the Pistons to victory with 22 points, nine rebounds and five assists, while Reggie Jackson dropped 21 points. 

Robin Lopez was the Knicks’ top player with 26 points and 16 rebounds. 

Corey Brewer and Trevor Ariza combined for 46 points as the Houston Rockets downed the Phoenix Suns 111-105. 

Brewer scored 24 points on nine of 12 shooting and also recorded four steals, while Ariza finished with 22 points, three rebounds, two assists and four steals. 

Archie Goodwin scored 22 points and dished out seven assists for the Suns. 

In the final game of the night, the Toronto Raptors defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 110-103. 

Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry had a huge impact as he scored 30 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out eight assists. 

Damian Lillard was the Trail Blazers’ top-scorer with 27 points.
