NBA Wrap: Cavs end six-year curse

The Cleveland Cavaliers won their first game in Indianapolis in six years after they beat the Pacers 111-106 in overtime. 

Even though he wasn’t his side’s top-scorer, LeBron James starred for the Cavaliers with a double-double, which consisted of 24 points and 12 rebounds. He also dished out six assists. 

George Hill had 23 points for the Pacers. 

Andre Drummond starred as the Detroit Pistons edged the Brooklyn Nets 105-100 at the Barclays Center. 

Drummond registered a huge double-double in the Pistons’ win as he dropped 21 points and grabbed 18 rebounds. 

Brook Lopez was the Nets’ top performer with 27 points. 

Meanwhile, Jeff Teague scored a season-high 32 points as the Atlanta Hawks cruised past the Dallas Mavericks 112-97. 

Teague converted 12 of his 15 shots and also pulled down five rebounds and dished out eight assists. 

Chandler Parsons scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Mavericks. 

Jeff Green and Zach Randolph combined for 46 points as the Memphis Grizzlies downed the New Orleans Pelicans 110-95. 

Green finished with 24 points and seven rebounds, while Randolph ended the game with 22 points and 12 rebounds. 

Anthony Davis and Norris Cole scored 23 points apiece for the Pelicans.

Over at the Chesapeake Energy Arena, Russell Westbrook recorded a triple-double to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 114-98 win over the Washington Wizards

Westbrook scored 17 points on eight of 13 shooting, grabbed 13 rebounds and dished out 11 assists. 

Bradley Beal was the Wizards’ top-scorer with 18 points. 

The San Antonio Spurs won their 26th consecutive game at home when they cruised past the Orlando Magic 107-92. 

LaMarcus Aldridge starred for the Spurs with 28 points, while Patrick Mills supported him with 22 points on nine of 13 shooting. 

Nikola Vucevic had 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Magic. 

The Denver Nuggets snapped the Toronto Raptors’ 11-game winning streak with a 112-93 win. 

Nikola Jokic put up an impressive performance for the Nuggets as he scored 27 points and pulled down 14 rebounds. 

DeMar DeRozan was the Raptors’ best player with 24 points. 

At the Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, the Utah Jazz skirted past the Chicago Bulls 105-96 in overtime. 

Gordon Hayward came close to registering a triple-double as he finished with 27 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists. 

Bulls guard Jimmy Butler was the top-scorer for his side with 26 points. 

Despite the absence of star center DeMarcus Cousins, the Sacramento Kings still managed to beat the Milwaukee Bucks 111-104. 

Rudy Gay led the Kings to victory with 32 points, nine rebounds and six assists. 

Greg Monroe was the Bucks’ best player as he scored 24 points and pulled down 12 rebounds.
