The five-day break before the much-awaited Game 7 of PBA Philippine Cup finals gives San Miguel Beer star center June Mar Fajardo ample time to rest his left knee.
SMB’s physical therapist Gerald Tenorio said more than any other treatment, the 6-foot-10 Fajardo simply needed time to rest during the Finals break since the San Miguel big man is expected to get more playing time against Alaska in the winner-take-all match this Wednesday.
“(June Mar) just needs strengthening, rest and a conservative treatment and recovery,” Tenorio told FOX Sports in Filipino.
Tenorio, who also works as in-house PT at the Sante Impact System in Ortigas, also mentioned that an even better news is that there has been no swelling on the reigning league MVP’s left knee since he played in the team’s 86-73 overtime win in Game 4 last week.
“So far there’s none (swelling on Fajardo’s knee),” he added.
Fajardo, the newly-minted Best Player this conference, is averaging 14.5 points and 5.5 rebounds during his two-game Finals appearance.
The soft-spoken Cebuano big man vows give his all in Game 7 as the Beermen try to become the first team in PBA history to complete a comeback from a 0-3 Finals deficit.
