The Los Angeles Clippers have traded Josh Smith to the Houston Rockets in exchange for the draft rights to Maarty Leunen and Serhiy Lishchuk.
In addition to sending Smith, the Clippers will also have to give the Rockets money in order to cover the remainder of Smith’s salary.
Smith played for the Rockets last season, where he averaged 12.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.2 blocks per game, before he opted to sign a one-year deal with the Clippers in July last year.
"I'm excited. I feel great," Smith told Fox 26 Houston. "It's a place that I probably should have never left."
Smith has not seen a lot of playing time with the Clippers, averaging 14.3 minutes, which is a career-low for the 30-year-old.
During his time with the Los Angeles franchise, Smith averaged career-lows across the board with 5.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.1 blocks per game.
