Donaldson shines as Blue Jays topple Twins

Josh Donaldson enjoyed a game to remember for the Toronto Blue Jays as they inflicted a 10th straight MLB defeat on the Minnesota Twins.

Donaldson whacked three home runs for the Blue Jays – a career first – as the AL East leaders earned a 9-6 success.

The San Francisco Giants walloped eight runs in the seventh inning to inspire a 13-4 victory over the Atlanta Braves, with Joe Panik homering twice and notching four RBIs.

A.J Ellis’ two-run double helped the Philadelphia Phillies to a 5-1 victory over the New York Mets, Welington Castillo drove in four runs in the Arizona Diamondbacks‘ 11-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds and Corey Dickerson’s three-run homer set up a 10-3 win for the Tampa Bay Rays over the Houston Astros.

The Texas Rangers were 2-1 winners over the Cleveland Indians, the Oakland Athletics enjoyed a 7-4 victory against the St Louis Cardinals, there was a 3-1 win for the Pittsburgh Pirates against the Milwaukee Brewers, while the Chicago White Sox beat the Seattle Mariners 4-1.

The Colorado Rockies were too strong for the Washington Nationals in a 5-3 success, the Los Angeles Angels routed the Detroit Tigers 5-0, they same scoreline which saw the Baltimore Orioles down the New York Yankees and the San Diego Padres dominated the Miami Marlins 3-1.

The Chicago Cubs edged a tight contest with the Los Angeles Dodgers 1-0 and eight runs in the sixth inning gave the Kansas City Royals a 10-4 win over the Boston Red Sox.
