Major League Baseball want to follow the NFL, NBA and NHL and host a regular season match in London.
Commissioner Rob Manfred revealed the league’s plans, hoping it could be as early as the summer of 2017.
The Olympic Stadium, which West Ham are set to use for the next Premier League season, has been mooted as a potential venue, although no decision has been made yet.
“We are very interested in playing there, and we’re working hard on that one,” Manfred told the Associated Press.
“I don’t think it will be an opener because of the weather issues. It would be later in the season.
“We haven’t really settled on teams, and I don’t want to speculate about that. Obviously, we want to make as good a first impression in Europe as we possibly can.”
