Shuttlers Tien Chen Chou and Akane Yamaguchi picked up the men’s and women’s singles title at the YONEX German Open on Sunday.
Chou did no have it all his own way, coming back from losing the second game to beat Ka Long Angus Ng 21-19, 18-21, 21-18 on the courts of the Innogy Sporthalle in Mulheim an der Ruhr.
Angus continued the form that saw him upset second seed Lin Dan in the quarter-finals in the second game. However, in the decider, Chou managed to keep a two shot cushion over Angus for most of the game before claiming the title.

In the women’s draw, top seed Akane Yamaguchi maintained her superb form to defeat fourth seed Yufei Chen and win the title.
The Japanese shuttler survived a second game comeback from Chen to wn 21-19, 6-21, 21-12 in a three-game thriller.
