Top seed Son Wan Ho and former World No 1 Lee Chong Wei were both eliminated in Wednesday’s first round, and Chen joined the exodus as he went down 15-21, 21-16, 21-16.
Antonsen moves on to face Hong Kong’s Angus Ng Ka Long.
Qualifier Kenta Nishimoto followed up his victory over Lee Chong Wei with a 21-13, 21-17 victory over B Sai Praneeeth.
The pick of Friday’s quarter-finals sees fourth seed Shi Yuqi take on eighth seed Srikanth Kidambi.
Kidambi edged Vincent Wong Wing Ki 21-19, 21-17, while Shi saw off Brice Leverdez 21-15, 21-10.
In the women’s draw, top seed Tai Tzu Ying advanced with a 21-13, 21-14 victory over Saena Kawakami, but fourth seed Carolina Marin was beaten 21-18, 21-19 by South Korea’s Jang Mi Lee.
Others to advance included second seed PV Sindhu, third seed Sung Ji Hyun and fifth seed Akane Yamaguchi.
