World number three Lin, who is the second seed in the men's draw this week, booked his place in Sunday's title match with a straight games victory over Chinese compatriot Wang Zhengming.
Lin, the two-time Olympic champion needed 49 minutes to get the better of his seventh seeded countryman, winning 21-14 21-17.
In Sunday's final, the five-time World Champion will take on another Chinese player in Tian Houwei, after the unseeded Tian was handed a victory over Chen Long without hitting a shuttlecock.
Chen, the current World Champion and world number one withdrew from the match with a suspected knee injury, although the extent of the blow remains unknown.
In her semi-final, world number two Li had to call on all her expertise against compatriot Wang Yihan in what was arguably the match of the event so far against the sixth seed.
Wang won an eagerly contested first game 22-20, before Li battled back in the remainder of the match to win the next to games 24-22, 22-20 in a contest that lasted all of 74 minutes.
In Sunday's final, the 24-year-old Olympic champion will take on seventh seed Intanon Ratchanok from Thailand.
Intanon also needed three games to book her space on the final, overcoming Chinese Tapei's fifth seed Tai Tzu Ying 20-22 21-9 21-12 in 58 minutes.
