India's Kidambi Srikanth defeated former world number one Chen Long in the Australian Open Super Series final on Sunday.
In the men's singles final, lasting 46 minutes, the unseeded Kidambi defeated Chen 22-20, 21-16 at the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre.
This was the first time that the 24-year-old Kidambi has beaten his 28-year-old opponent in six meetings.
In the women's singles final there was an upset when the unseeded Nozomi Okuhara of Japan battled past third-seeded countryman Akane Yamaguchi 21-12, 21-23, 21-17 in a match lasting just over one hour.
In the final of the men's doubles, things went according to the seedings when Japan third seeds Takeshi Kamura and Keigo Sonoda beat Indonesia's Hendra Setiawan and Boon Heong Tan of Malaysia 21-17, 21-19 in 37 minutes.
In the women's doubles, top seeds Misaki Matsutomo and Ayaka Takahashi of Japan defeated Danish second seeds Kamilla Rytter Juhl and Christinna Pedersen 21-10, 21-13.
