Second seed Chen Long of China defeated fourth-seeded countryman Lin Dan in the final of Badminton’s Asia Championships taking place in Wuhan, China on Sunday.
Chen needed one hour and 20 minutes to defeat Lin 21-23, 21-11, 21-10 and lift the winner's trophy.
The victory takes their career head-to-head meeting to three wins for Chen and eight for Lin.
The women's singles final was a close affair that in the end went with the seedings, as Chinese Taipei top seed Tai Tzu Ying needed 59 minutes to down second seed Akane Yamaguchi of Japan 18-21, 21-11, 21-18.
The result means that Tai leads their head-to-head meetings 4-3.
Women's Doubles final:(1) Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi (Japan) beat Hye Rin Kim/Yoo Hae Won (Korea Republic) 21-19, 16-21, 21-10.
Mixed Doubles final: (3) Lu Kai/Huang Yaqiong (China) beat (8) Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai (Thailand) 21-18, 21-11.
Men's Doubles final: (6) Li Junhui/Liu Yuchen(China) beat Huang Kaixiang/Wang Yilyu (China) 21-14, 21-12.
