Top seed Lin Dan was knocked out in the semi-finals of the China Masters by Qiao Bin on Saturday.
The All-Chinese clash saw Bin survive a second game comeback from the five-time world champion to win 21-16, 15-21, 21-14 on the courts of the Olympic Sports Centre in Jiangsu, China.
Incredibly, Dan would blow a nine point lead in the opening game, with Bin reeling off 14 consecutive points to win the game after being down 16-7.
Dan battled back in the second game to win comfortably but in the decider, Bin started off the stronger of the two shuttlers and kept a points buffer as he lead from start to finish.
Bin next faces Tian Houwei in the final on Sunday after the second seed battled past Huang Yuxiang 21-18, 17-21, 21-6.
