Lin cruised past countryman Zhou Zeqi 21-14, 21-14 in 33 minutes to set up a quarter-final clash with fifth seed Hsu Jen Hao of (Chinese Taipei) after he hammered China's Gu Junfeng 21-12, 21-12.
In an all China clash, second seed Tian Houwei got past Lu Guangzu 21-17, 21-13 and third seed Qiao Bin of China battled for 76 minutes to defeat India's Parupalli Kashyap 21-10, 20-22, 21-13.
Fourth seed Huang Yuxiang of China beat Chinese Taipei's Lin Chia Hsuan 29-27, 21-17 and Japan's sixth seed Kanta Tsuneyama spent 56 minutes on court to battle past China's Ye Binghong 15-21, 21-14, 21-16.
In women's singles, Japan second seed Aya Ohori cruised past China's Ji Shuting 21-16, 21-15 while fifth seed Saena Kawakami of Japan hammered Chinese Taipei's Li Ting Peng 21-8, 21-11 and eighth seed Gao Fangjie of China beat countryman Li Yun 18-21, 21-15, 21-7 in 67 minutes.
