Ekiring to feature at US Open

Uganda Badminton Association Chief Executive Officer Simon Mugabi has also entered Ekiring in the 2015 Yonex Mauritius International as he believes it will prepare the 31-year-old for the All Africa Games.

"We think entering Ekiring for all these tournaments will make his chances bright to qualify for his second Olympic Games," Mugabi told Xinhua on Monday. "The events will also help him prepare better for the 2015 All Africa Games."

With Ekiring heading to New York for the US Open Championship and participating in the Yonex Mauritius International, Mugabi revealed that five other players – Jacob Kasirye, Bridget Shamim Bangi, Daisy Nakalyango and Aisha Nakiyemba – had to be withdrawn from the event in Mauritius as the Ugandan government claim that they don't have the finances to support the team.
