Chinese second seed Tian Houwei and South Korean 13th seed Jeon Hyeok Jin will meet in the final of the BWF Macau Open after both recorded straight-games victories in Saturday's semi-finals.
The South Korean was the first to reach the championship match when he beat Malaysia’s Goh Soon Huat in 41 minutes.
Jeon won 21-15, 21-15 to notch up his third consecutive straight-sets win at the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion this week.
Later in the day, Houwei lived up to his high seeding when eliminated Indonesian 16th seed Ihsan Maulana Mustofa.
Houwei had been forced to battle through tough, three-game matches in both the last sixteen and quarter-final stages, but was able to edge Mustofa 21-18, 21-17 in the penultimate round.
The Chinese has appeared two finals this season, finishing as runner up at the Yonex-Sunrise Hong Kong Open and Dong Feng Citroen Badminton Asia Championships.
Jeon has also finished second twice thus far – at the Yonex Sunrise Malaysia Masters and Victor Indonesia International Challenge – but also claimed victory at the Osaka International Challenge Badminton Championships.
