Long will face third seed Viktor Axelsen, who eased past Takuma Ueda of Japan 21-11 , 21-6 in just 30 minutes.

Elsewhere, Denmark's Jan O Jorgensen edged fifth seed Tian Houwei 14-21, 21-16, 21-14 and Iskandar Zulkarnain beat Bin Qiao 21-19, 21-7.

In the women's draw, Marin was beaten at the quarter-final stage by fifth seed Tzu Ying Tai 21-10, 22-10 in a pulsating affair.

Tai will face Sun Yu after the Chinese shuttler rolled over Line Kjaersfeldt 21-19, 21-3.

The other semi-final will feature seventh seed Sindhu V Pusarla and sixth seed Ju Hyun Sung after they eased through their quarter-final clashes.
