Chong Wei wins Canada Open

Chong Wei, who won the US Open prior to this his trip to Calgary, only needed 32 minutes to see off the challenge of Ng. 

Meanwhile, third seed Michelle Li clinched the women's singles title after beating Kaori Imabeppu of Japan 21-17, 25-23 in a hard-fought battle.

In the men's doubles final, fifth seeds Junhui Li and Yuchen Liu were given a big scare early on, but bounced back to register a 17-21, 21-12, 21-18 win over their over Chinese compatriots Huang Kaixiang and Wang Sijie.

There was an upset in the women's doubles as India's Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa triumphed over top seeds Eefje Muskens and Selena Piek 21-19, 21-16. 

Despite missing out on the men's singles title, Hong Kong did have a reason to celebrate as Lee Chun Hei Reginald and Chau Hoi Wah won the mixed doubles event when they defeated Indonesia's Andrei Adistia and Vita Marissa 21-16, 21-18.
