Brazilian third seed Ygor Coelho De Oliveira reached the second round of badminton’s Yonex Brazil Grand Prix in Foz do Iguacu on Wednesday.
De Oliveira needed just 28 minutes to cruise past countryman Willian Guimaraes 21-8, 21-15 to set up a second round match against Luka Wraber of Austria.
Wraber was made to battle for 66 minutes before defeating Artur Silva Pomoceno of Brazil 21-11, 18-21, 21-11.
In other men’s first round results, Austria’s Vilson Vattanirappel beat Hugo Arthuso of Brazil 21-10, 21-18 and Milan Ludik of the Czech Republic beat hometown player Luiz Dos Santos 21-18, 21-17.
Canadian B.R. Sankeerth cruised past Brazil’s Felippe Cury Fonsecan 21-15, 21-14 in 31 minutes.
