Chinese shuttler Lin Dan revealed that he will start to scale down his responsibilities off the court in order to focus solely on defending his Olympic title.
Dan won the Brazil Open on Sunday, which was held in the same arena that the Badminton discipline will take place in Rio in nine months time.
Should the former world number one defend his title in Brazilian capital, he would have three Olympic gold medals to his name.
"The competition for places in China is ferocious," the five time world champion told Zee News.
"Starting with my training this winter, I will be working systematically. Next year, I will become totally focused on the competitions."
Dan has endured a tumultous 2015, as he was knocked out in the opening stages of the French Open, China Open and Hong Kong Open.
