Malaysian superstar Lee Chong Wei is eager to erase previous disappointment and a doping episode as he bids for Olympic glory in Rio next month.
Malaysia have never won Olympic gold in any sport and Lee has certainly felt the weight of pressure put upon him after losing in the men’s final to China’s Lin Dan in both London in 2012 and Beijing 2008.
However, the 33-year-old is the favourite to top the podium in Brazil, having returned to the world number one spot.
“This is not only my dream but also the dream of all Malaysians,” admitted Lee.
“I have to make the best preparation since this is my last Olympic Games.”
The Olympic badminton tournament gets underway on Thursday August 11.
