Wong, Yeo win Vietnam singles titles

Hong Kong's Wong Wing Ki Vincent and Yeo Jia Min of Singapore won the men's and women's finals respectively in Sunday's Vietnam Open in Ho Chi Minh City.

Fourth seed Wong battled for 57 minutes to eventually defeat Malaysian 11th seed Chong Wei Feng 21-12, 14-21, 21-13 in the men’s final.

In the women's final, Yeo had few problems defeating unseeded Ayumi Mine of Japan 21-14, 21-17 in a match lasting 40minutes.

Women's doubles third seeds, Della Destiara Haris and Rosyita Eka Putri Sari of Indonesia hammered fifth-seeded countryman Tiara Rosalia Nuraidah and  Rizki Amelia Pradipta 21-11, 21-15.    

In an upset in the men's doubles final, Chinese Taipei second seeds Lee Jhe-Huei and Lee Yang beat Malaysian top seeds Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong 18-21, 21-14, 21-7.        

In the mixed doubles, Malaysian third seeds Tan Kian Meng and Lai Pei Jing cruised past Fourth seeds Alfian Eko Prasstya and Annisa Saufika of Indonesia 21-16, 21-11.
