Unseeded Japanese player Ayumi Mine secured an upset victory over top seed Hsu Ya Ching of Taipei in Saturday's Vietnam Open semi-finals.
Despite being heavily favoured, Hsu suffered a surprise 21-16, 8-21, 21-12 defeat following a one-hour battle in Ho Chi Minh City.
Mine's reward is a finals appearance against another unseeded player, Indonesian Yeo Jia Min.
Yeo needed just 35 minutes to dispatch Malaysia's Cheah Soniia Su Ya 21-17, 21-12.
Mine and Yeo have never faced each other, though with a world ranking more than one hundred places higher than Yeo's, Mine will be the firm favourite to take the title.
