Malaysia's Chong Wei Feng will face Hong Kong's Wong Wing Ki Vincent in Sunday's final of the Vietnam Open in Ho Chi Minh City.
Chong, seeded 11th, had too much firepower for Indonesia's Firman Abdul Kholik, wrapping up a 21-19, 21-15 victory in 42 minutes.
It was the first time the two players had ever faced each other.
Awaiting Chong in final is fourth seed Wong, who defeated 14th seed Lin Yu Hsien of Taipei 21-11, 21-17 in the day's other semi-final.
Chong and Wong have faced each on two previous occasions, with the Hong Kong player emerging victorious on both occasions – although their last match-up was over three years ago.
Chong is hunting his first title since last year's Southeast Asian Games, while Wong is looking to claim his maiden crown.
