China's Chen Long and Japan's Kento Momota will face off in the in a top-of-the-rankings clash in the semi-finals of the Badminton World Championships after advancing from the quarter-finals on Friday.
Momota was the first to book his place in the semis when he triumphed 21-6, 21-14 over Hong Kong’s Wei Nan in just 37 minutes.
Chen then set up the clash when he defeated Danish seventh seed Viktor Axelson 21-18, 30-29 in 65 minutes.
Momota is seeded fourth at the tournament, while Long is the top seed and defending champion after winning the 2014 tournament in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The 2012 Olympic bronze medalist will be favoured to claim victory and advance to the final at the expense of his Japanese opponent.
Meanwhile, the second semi-final clash will be decided when Hong Kong's 13th seed Hu Yun faces Malaysia's Lee Chon Wei, and Danish second seed Jan O Jorgensen plays Chinese fifth seed Lin Dan.
