Lin Dan will face Viktor Axelsen in the final of the Japan Open Super Series after both players came through their respective semi-finals unscathed.
In the day's first men's semi-final at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, the seventh seeded Axelsen beat the sixth seed from Chinese Tapei, Chou Tien Chen.
In a match that lasted 42 minutes, the Dane won the first game 21-19 before comfortably winning the second game 21-13.
In the second last-four match in the Japanese capital, two-time Olympic champion Dan, the fifth seed this week, simply had too much in his locker for Indonesia's Tommy Sugiarto.
Whilst Sugiarto didn't disgrace himself at any point of the 54-minute match, the result was never in question as the five-time World Champion won 21-17, 21-17.
Axelsen and Dan have met twice before – the Chinese shuttler winning at the Malaysian Open in 2013 and the Dane earlier this year at the Australian Open.
