NG Ka Long Angus knocked out Chen Long in the quarter-finals of the OUE Singapore Open on Friday.
The Hong Kong player defeated the top seed 21-14, 21-18 on the courts of the Stadium Walk in Singapore.
Angus ran out to a 6-0 leave in the opening game and managed to maintain his lead on his way to winning the game.
The Chinese superstar battled back in the second game and had a 12-4 lead as he looked to force a deciding game.
But Angus rallied and went on a streak of ten points to claw his way back into the contest, before closing out in style.
Angus now faces Son Wan Ho in the semi-finals, after the South Korean knocked out sixth seed Tian Houwei to reach the final four.
