Former world number one Lee Chong Wei will take on Jan O Jorgensen in the semi-finals of the Malaysia Open on Saturday.
The second-seeded Malaysian booked his place in the last four of the tournament he has won 10 times before with a 21-14, 21-13 win over sixth-seeded Dane Viktor Axelsen at the Malawati Stadium on Friday.
Chong Wei had his nose in front from the get-go in both games and his Danish opponent simply had no answer to the quality of his all-round play.
Fellow Dane Jorgensen, the fifth seed this week, romped past two-time Olympic champion Lin Dan 21-17, 21-4 in just 32 minutes.
Dan, seeded fourth this time around, kept up the pace with his opponent throughout the first game, but was decidedly off-colour in the second.
World number one Chen Long will take on the unseeded Christie Jonatan in the other semi-final.
The world champion secured his place in the last four with a 21-16, 21-16 victory over Chinese compatriot Tian Houwei in a match that lasted 46 minutes.
Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie beat England’s Rajiv Ouseph 21-19, 21-19 in the other quarter-final.
