Malaysian shuttler Liew Daren has revealed that he is solely focused on this year even though the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) have decided to retain him until the 2016 Olympic Games.
Daren made it clear that he wants to finish 2015 on a high and stay injury free heading into next year.
The 28-year-old won his first title in three years at the Polish Open in March, but it has all been downhill since then as he has suffered five first round exits in the six tournaments he has participated in.
With 2015 coming to an end, Daren is hoping to regain his touch in the last few tournaments of the year and carry his momentum into 2016.
"I have no interest in thinking about next year," he told Arena Metro. "For now, all I want is to be free from injuries and boost my confidence ahead of my matches."
