Top seeds China will take on Japan for the women’s title at the Asian Team Championships after both nations recorded one-sided victories on Saturday.
China beat Korea 3-0 while second seed Japan beat Thailand by the same scoreline.
Shixian Wang got China off to a winning start when she beat Ji Hyun Sung 21-13, 21-12 inside 35 minutes.
The doubles match that followed was the closest match of the tie, but after spending 59 minutes on court, the Chinese pair of Ying Luo and Qing Tian proved too good for Kyung Eun Jung and Seung Chan Shin, winning 21-7, 16-21, 21-14.
Yu Sun then wrapped up the tie with a 43-minute 21-18, 21-13 victory over Yeon Ju Bae.
In other tie, Nozomi Okuhara got Japan on the scoreboard with a 21-14, 17-21, 21-14 victory over Busanan Ongbumrungphan in a match that lasted all of 67 minutes.
Japan’s lead was doubled when Misaki Matsutomo and Ayaka Takahashi beat Puttita Supajirakul and Sapsiree Taerattanachai 16-21, 21-13, 21-18.
Japan booked their place in the title match when Sayato Sako thumped Porntip Buranaprasertsuk 21-19, 21-16.
