Malaysian shuttler Zulfadli Zulkiffli has refused to give up on his hopes of qualifying for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Only the top 16 shuttlers will be heading to Brazil and if Zulfadli wants to be among them, but he has very little time to do so as he currently sits in 40th place on the rankings.
After reaching the third round of the World Championships in Jakarta in August, Zulfadli has not been in the best of form as he was knocked out in the first round of the Korea Open by Indonesia's Tommy Sugiarto in September.
But, the 22-year-old now has six tournaments before the end of the year to improve his ranking and increase his chances of representing Malaysia at the Olympics.
"I still have a chance to qualify because two players will be chosen from each country, provided that they are in the top of the world rankings," he was quoted as saying by Berita Harian. "As for now, I’m ranked [40th] overall.
"So practically speaking, I have few more steps till I reach the top ."
Zulfadli will be hoping to take a few steps in the right direction during his next assignment, which will be the Korea Masters Championship from November 3 to 8.
