Another early exit for Nehwal

World number two Saina Nehwal suffered another loss at the French Open on Friday, going down in straight games to Thailand's Ratchanok Intanon in the quarterfinals.

Nehwal, who relinquished the top spot in the world rankings this week after suffering early defeats at Japan and Denmark Opens, went down 21-9 21-15 to the eighth seed in Paris to continue her miserable run.

Intanon moves on to face fourth seed Wang Shixian, who beat Nozomi Okuhara 21-17 27-25.

The other semi-final will see second-seeded Spaniard Carolina Marin take on Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei.

Marin was a convincing 21-16 21-10 winner over Maria Febe Kusumastuti, while third seed Tai beat fifth seed Li Xuerui of China 22-20 21-14.
