Malaysian star Lee Chong Wei won the men’s singles final while India’s PV Sindhu did the same in the women’s singles at the Victor Far East Malaysia Masters on Sunday.
Top-seeded Lee was always in control against countryman Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin winning 21-18, 21-11 in a match lasting 42 minutes.
In the women’s singles final, which lasted 32 minutes, third-seeded Sindhu hammered Scotland’s Kirsty Gilmour 21-15, 21-9.
In the mixed doubles final, Chinese duo Zheng Siwei and Li Yinhui beat Kian Meng Tan and Pei Jing Lai of Malaysia
In the women’s doubles final, Japanese top seeds Misaki Matsutomo and Ayaka Takahashi defeated Chinese second seeds Tang Yuanting and Yu Yang 21-18, 22-20 in a match lasting 45 minutes.
In the men’s doubles final, Indonesia’s Gideon Markus Fernaldi and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo needed 54 minutes to get past Kien Keat Koo and Boon Heong Tan of Malaysia 18-21, 21-13, 21-18.
