Chong Wei reaches Malaysian semis

Malaysian superstar and top seed Lee Chong Wei reached the semi-finals of the Victor Far East Malaysia Masters on Friday.

The former world number one was too for Indian 10th seed Ajay Jayaram winning 21-16, 21-16 in 35 minutes.

In the semi-final, he will be up against Indonesian third seed Tommy Sugiarto who beat Qiao Bin of China 21-6, 21-17 earlier in the day.

In other men’s quarter-final matches, Indian second seed K. Srikanth beat China’s Huang Yuxiang 21-15, 21-14 to set up a semi-final clash against Malaysia’s unseeded Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin, who got past eighth seed Ng Ka Long Angus of Hong Kong 21-11, 21-15 in 36 minutes.
