Malaysian doubles pair Goh V Shem and Tan Wee Kiong will be looking to keep their winning momentum going at the Mexico City Grand Prix after they triumphed at the USA International.
V Shem and Wee Kiong cruised past Russia’s Vladimir Ivanov and Ivan Sozonov 21-14, 21-17 in the final of the USA International earlier this month and V Shem is confident that he and Wee Kiong can continue their winning ways in Mexico.
“It was utterly delightful when got to win our first international title,” V Shem was quoted as saying by Sinar Harian. “No we can build back our confidence and hopefully get deliver consistency after this.
“Personally, I feel that we can perform better because we’re getting much more compatible in terms of our teamwork. I believe we can maintain this rhythm and bag our second title of the year.”
V Shem and Wee Kiong, who are currently ranked 15th on the world rankings, were given a bye in the first round and could either face Germany’s Jonathan Persson and Matej Hlinican or America’s Mathew Fogarty and Bjorn Seguin in the next round.
