Former world number ones Lee Chong Wei, Taufik Hidayat and Peter Gade-Christensen took to the courts at the Kuala Lumpur Badminton (KLBA) Stadium in Cheras on Tuesday in the final leg of the Legends' Vision Tour.
Before the series of exhibition matches aimed at popularising the sport started, Christensen, Taufik and Chong Wei conducted a coaching clinic for students.
Thereafter the three legends took to the court and even played in a three-on-three match against Rexy Mainaky, Cheah Soon Kit and Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong.
Later on, Chong Wei partnered his wife Wong Mew Choo in a doubles match.
Lastly, Christensen was congratulated by the packed stadium when he cut a cake to celebrate his 39th birthday.
"We need to present badminton in the most professional way. We have combined forces to show the future generation what it takes to be a legend," said Christensen, who is currently the coach of the French national team.
"Our sport needs stars to keep interest alive … but we want more to catch the excitement. We need to raise the bar higher."
Reigning two-time Olympic champion Lin Dan was scheduled to appear but withdrew with an injury.
The Legends' Vision Tour will travel to various countries in 2016, including the United States and South Africa in a bid to popularise the sport.
